Frequently Asked Questions

What is Brazilian waxing?

What is Brazilian Waxing

Brazilian waxing is the removal of  the hair "down there".  Specifically ALL of the hair, front, back and in between.  Yes, both males and females do it.

Preparing for your Brazilian Wax:
Let your hair grow baby!  Hair must be at least 1/4" long in order for the wax to be able to grab it.  So if you just have a bit of stubble from shaving two days ago, that's not going to be enough, you need a good two weeks growth after shaving to be waxed with the best results.   Also, avoid caffine or alcohol prior to your appoinemtent, they dialate the blood vessles and make you more sensitive.

Does Brazilian waxing hurt?
I'm not going to lie, it can be a bit uncomfortable depending on your personal pain tolerance.  BUT, if your technician knows what they are doing and they are using the right products, it can be a much more comfortable experience than you think.

Home care after waxing
Newly waxed skin can be senstive, so avoid the use of harsh chemicals, fragrances and bar soaps.  Also, no sun exposure for at least 48 hours to avoid burning the delicate skin.  No hot tubs, saunas, or extreme heat.  And no hanky panky for at least 24 hours. If you are prone to ingrowns, it is best to go "commando" for 3-4 days following a Brazilian wax, and wear loose fitting cotton clothing, no nylong knickers or polyesther pants.  Tight clothing and synthetic fibers do not allow the skin to breath and cause friction which in turn leads to ingrown hair.

What is Double Dipping?

Double dipping is the act of the same wax stick being dipped back into the wax pot after it has been used.  This is unsanitary and contaminates the wax which could lead to the spreading of bacteria and all sorts of nasties.

Let's suppose that your technician "double-dips".  You come in for a lip wax but the person before you got a Braziian.  Do you still want that lip wax?   I DO NOT double dip EVER!
